If you are looking for some things to see and do nearby, our brief guide gives you some of the top places to visit.

Neumann’s Flash Trail

This popular walking route is an easy hike, although there may be some more challenging parts in places. This 7km walk begins at Neumann’s Flash, and takes in some of the area’s canal paths. Along the way, you will see the Anderton Boat Lift, one of only two working boat lifts in the UK. With plenty of opportunities to spot wild birds and take in the scenery of the area, this is an active trail that is suitable for all the family.

Anderton Nature Park

This nature park has been constructed over old industrial land and is now a thriving habitat for wildlife. Here you will find several family-friendly trails to explore as well as waterside walks where you can see plenty of birdlife. Due to its industrial past, the land has a unique makeup of lime, salt and ash, creating soil conditions that support a vast variety of wild plants. With easy trails and picnic spots, it is a great day out for walkers of all levels of ability.

Delamere Forest

This beautiful forest is located at Linmere, Northwich, and has a series of hiking trails where you can enjoy the local wildlife and flora. There are also plenty of cycle trails, including more advanced routes for mountain bikers, and you can hire bikes for your visit if you haven’t brought your own. Being a forest, there is low light pollution which makes it an excellent spot to view the night sky.

Stargazing at Jodrell Bank

If stargazing is your thing, then a visit to Cheshire’s Jodrell Bank observatory is a must. Here, you can learn all about the beauty of the night sky and marvel at the wonders of the universe. Keep a look out for their special events, such as evening stargazing groups, where you can put into practice what you have learned as you observe the stars.

Cycling at Marberry Park

For getting out and exploring on two wheels, you can’t beat the family-friendly cycle routes of Marberry Park. With well-maintained paths, you can explore ancient woodland and the peaceful water of Budworth Mere, before stopping for well-earned refreshments at the cafĂ©.

Northwich is a great location for all types of outdoor activities, and it’s all on the doorstep when you stay with us at Elm Cottage Touring Park. So, get ready for adventure and start planning your trip today!
